What a shame the best school EVER doesn't teach decent spelling and grammer, Ailsa. A nice site with potential but I wonder if it is being updated regularly. |

Hi, I am looking for info on my father, Owen Joe Woods, native of Kilkerley. Dad will be 80 years old this July and I am seeking info on his early days as a boy growing up in Kilkerley, to be presented to him as part of his birthday celebrations. I would especially like to talk to anyone who may have been in his class at school, and who may have some special memories from this time. Please contact me via the email address above.

I am researching the history of my family in Louth. My father ws born in 1896 in Ardee, I understand that the original Kerley clan were Cathlics who lost a war in Scotland and 'had to leave" Scotland - perhaps hurriedly. This is not verfied yet but it comes from a brother at Iona College in the USA. contact me: takerley@optonline.net

Hello everybody, you will notice that some pages have been re-named, and I've added a 'Culture' page. There is a problem with the 'People' page (what's new!) - the photo(s) are not available right now. I think that the site looks better like this , hope you enjjoy it.

Thanks our fella, Well yes, apparently it's named after a cleric/monk by the name of Coirle, but nobody knows if he was killed or not! Doesn't appear to be any connection to the surname which appears to be a variant of Kerley alright, also sometimes spelled Curley. Send us your Email address for more info.

Yes we have been a bit haphazard in our updates to the site since it was originally set up. We have however set up the Photo Gallery (Sept), and the People page (with one entry!), and added the Dialect Document to the History and Culture page. We have also just added a new page (Carn Choirle)- please view (15 Dec 04). At the moment the only people actively working on the site are myself and Bernard, new material is always welcome (particularly for Photos, People and History/Culture pages). We hope to make a visit to the site more rewarding in the future.
